On August 27, Stewart ‘Stewie’ Spence competed in the ICN Naturals African Championships held at Durban Boys’ High School. He achieved first place in the grandmaster category and received a trophy, and also won a gold medal in the O/40 category. He received a special medal in recognition of his passion and dedication to the sport, and for being a good example for bodybuilders of all ages.

Natural bodybuilding is all about building muscle without the use of steroids, and athletes are tested before every event.

“I was very happy with my success. I’ve been active since I was 16 and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I will continue to compete as long as I can,” he said.

Besides his trophy and medals, Spence won other prizes, including gym equipment and protein shakes.
