Fitness isn’t just Sommer’s latest trend. She started lifting weights when she was 14 and even entered bodybuilding competitions at 16. According to the star, “it’s a whole other world where a lot of girls are on steroids, and I didn’t want to do that to my body,” she told Cosmopolitan why she quit competing.

Sommer is all about self-love and refuses to photoshop images. “If there’s anything non-permanent on my face like a pimple, I’m going to smooth it out,” she told Cosmopolitan. “If I take a picture from the wrong angle, I just won’t post it. I don’t Photoshop my body because it would look like fake advertising.”

Sommer doesn’t mess around when it comes to exercise, training five times a week for up to 90 minutes. She spends two whole days on her lower body. “If my glutes hurt, I’m like, ‘I probably shouldn’t work on them today,'” she explained. “I just listen to my body.” She also tries to maintain variety with workouts. “There isn’t a certain exercise or specific workout that’s beneficial,” she says. “I change it up every day and try to make it fun because as soon as it looks like work, you don’t want to do it anymore.”

Ray eats 70 grams of protein a day to keep her glutes in shape, starting the day with a protein shake and eating five other small meals throughout the day, she told Cosmo. Her daily protein goal is 70 grams to maintain her gluteal muscle mass. Grilled chicken, vegetables and steamed white rice is one of his favorite dishes. Sometimes she’ll also indulge in an In-and-Out Burger (minus the bun) or Jersey Mike’s Turkey. Starchy vegetables and whole grains meet his carbohydrate needs.

Sommer follows a strict diet during the week, but will cheat on the weekends. “If I want a slice of pizza, I get a slice of pizza. I want to look good, but I also want to enjoy life,” she explained.

“I don’t want to motivate women to look like me, I want them to like themselves like me,” Ray told Cosmopolitan. “Society pressures you to look a certain way and be a certain way – you look your best when you have confidence in yourself.” “Feeling confident is an important part of success.
