Booker T criticizes Adam Cole’s physique
Booker T thinks Adam Cole’s problems in AEW have nothing to do with his recent injuries but rather his physique.
After Adam Cole emerged victorious in the Owen Hart Foundation finals at AEW Double or Nothing, it has since been reported that he was suffering from injuries. Despite the reports, Cole continued to appear on Dynamite trying to get himself a match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door. While Cole thinks he’s the best on the list, a Hall of Famer thinks Cole is still missing a crucial piece.
Booker T recently spoke about the “Wrestling Reality Podcastabout Cole’s injuries and criticized him for his current build. The leader of the undisputed elite is billed at five foot 11 and 200 pounds while the man he defeated at Double or Nothing, Samoa Joe, is billed at 310. Although Cole has beaten men bigger than him in the past, Booker T feels that his smaller build puts him at a disadvantage:
“If Adam Cole has to have surgery and he’s been out for six, nine months and he, you know, loses even more muscle, it’s going to be tough on that brother, you know what I mean? Right now it’s around a 60 dollar…
We need to put more weight on Adam Cole, you know what I mean? That’s his problem, he’s light, light down there. We need to muscle this kid. That’s probably one of the reasons he’s going there, getting hurt because it can’t be AEW’s schedule.
Cole hasn’t wrestled since winning Double or Nothing. He is currently in the running to face Jay White for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door, but he also has another threat by the name of Hangman Adam Page. AEW has yet to confirm who will end up challenging White for the title.
