Action star Dwayne Johnson recently shared a behind-the-scenes clip of him on the set of Warner Bros. Coming black adamhighlighting how important the former bodybuilding wrestler is in the role.
The clip was shared on social media and features Johnson in a Teth-Adam costume, walking on set of black adampassing at least one crew member, showing just how massive the actor has become.
As the release date nears, Johnson shared a number of behind-the-scenes looks at black adamcostumes, sets and more. He used many of these glimpses as opportunities to express his enthusiasm for the project and how eager he was to complete it. In a recent post, the actor wrote, “Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of playing great (funny) characters over the years, but none speak more to my DNA than this anti- hero known as the Man in Black, Teth Adam.”
The movie took a long time to come. black adam has been in development, with Johnson attached, since 2007. After postponements, delays, the DCEU was created and Warner Bros. brought the project back to life to introduce the anti-hero, though there were still issues to work out when it came to the character’s relationship with Shazam, who released his own solo film in 2019.
The project has been delayed several times since for a number of reasons, including the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It was recently reported that the most recent delay was due to Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3which required the sound stages which black adam needed for reruns.
Additionally, producer Hiram Garcia explained, “I think we’re just in a world right now where there’s been a huge, understandable blockage when the [COVID-19] the pandemic hit and many productions were put on hold.” He continued, “Now that the industry has really roared, the visual effects pipeline is so stuck. Obviously, all of these superhero movies require so much VFX, and we’re just in a situation where the majority of VFX houses are completely overwhelmed with work.”
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, black adam opens in theaters on October 21.
